The usual mediocre procedural crap, with only two seconds at the end that contribute to the actual story. Initially I thought I'd watch the show for Michael Sheen, but he wasn't even in this ep!
I think I am done. Maybe will watch one more episode to see if the show improves any, but my expectations are low.
Also, like I could possibly care less about the female detective's backstory... 🙄
Well did you watch any more episodes? I like it but I'm a sucker for cop shows and mysteries. I've always liked Lou Diamond Phillips also. I'm watching it now at like 5 in the morning because I can't sleep, lol.
I wrote that post after the Haitian drug cartel episode, which I thought was just so all-around bad - the next episode was indeed better, and actually had Michael Sheen's character involved. I mean, I don't think that "Jesus" himself (Tom Payne) is a good actor, so he is not a part of the attraction for me at all. I think last night's episode will be the deciding factor for me (I am expecting Ainsley's interview is in it?..), haven't watched it yet.
If it's not up to par, I'll drop the show, since too many quality new series came out recently that I haven't watched yet (Modern Love, The Morning Show, the second season of The Kominsky Method, etc.), and my time is limited.
I'll check out the ones you mentioned. I haven't seen any of those. With winter coming now in Michigan I'll be watching a lot more TV. I'm retired so I have a lot of time. If you don't have a lot of time, you certainly have to pick only the best. Are you skipping Prodigal Son?
I am guessing the only way the network was able to get Michael Sheen was if he was free to pursue other projects.
It's been a pattern with this show, really: all the episodes without him can be just skipped outright, and in the episodes with him he single-handedly elevates the material from "mediocre at best" to "worth watching".
