vesuvius pulled an "ashlee simpson" by lipsyncing... but if rainn wilsons character was in vesuvius as the drummer, wouldnt he have already known they lipsync, therefore having some blackmail on them when they booted him from the band? idk, i just didnt really get that.

They probably didn't lipsync in the early days. As they aged 20 years maybe just got old and tired and wern't in it for the glory-just the money and fame and couldn't care less. Maybe they lost some of their talent due to drinking, etc.
