dear purplebear, this movie is part of the whole john c reilly, jack black, rainn wilson revolution because we want people like you to feel good about yourself.

Dude that was kind of why they cast Rainn Wilson.. that's why they kicked him out of the band besides the other drummer was the nephew or son of the record company big shot. Then the new manager tried to replace him in A.D.D because he "didn't look the part"

this was just a fun stupid movie, that's not meant to be taken seriously.. and would have sucked with out rainn wilson, his weird look is what helps make him so funny.

Well that's sort cold, but I understand what you mean. If like, Will Arnett and Rainn had switched roles, coulda been way better.
