Building a robot.

Do you think that when Fish(Wilson) sees his nephew(Gad) for the first time and says "Last time I saw you, you were building a robot" was a joke about the movie 21 that Josh Gad was in just previous to The Rocker? Or just a coincidence?

In the movie 21, Josh Gad's character is building a robot for the entire movie. Anybody else catch this?

I caught it. The irony made me laugh, though I've got to believe it was just a coincidence.

Sorry, but I have to disagree, and Jason Sudeikis is actaully George Wendt's nephew.

Had this been the case, the writers would have had plenty of references available for Jeff Garlin, Christina Applegate, and Jane Lynch, yet they had none. Plus, 21 had only been released for 5 months prior and the script for The Rocker had to have been written long before that.

Irony and coincidence.

George Wendt didn't play Stan, Jeff Garlin did. The writers could have lined up any number of references to "Curb Your Enthusiasm" or "Wall-E" but didn't. And if you want to Make references for Christina Applegate, they are many more recognizable than her short term in the Dolls. Conincidence all.

There you go. I've deleted all of my posts so I guess your opinion wins.

Enjoy!!

I'm a Lieutenant Detective in, uh, Homicide. That's a fancy name for murder.
