Anyone else hate the music in this?

I don't mean the soundtrack of other artists, I mean the songs by A.D.D... I find it hard to believe a metal bands audience would be chanting for an alternative sounding band to come back on stage.... that aint rock n roll fans.... I know it was just a movie, but if i saw that band come on before AC/DC, Metallica, Motley Crue ect.. me and 20,000 plus fans would boo there ass' off stage telling the emo fags to go home.

I know there are already plenty of chains comparing this movie to School of Rock, but that really is probably the closest movie to this one, and so in that regard, I say that the music is this movie was definitely better than the music in SOR.

Plus, Vesuvius didn't really sound all that "metal" to me. I see where you're coming from, they're definitely not playing the same genre of rock that A.D.D was playing, but it didn't seem as big a gradient as metal and alternative.

I rather liked Baines. We shared the same bootmaker.

Actually, I really liked the music. Even bought the soundtrack. Kind of like what happened in the movie via the YouTube situation.

reply

That's what me and my friends were saying. It was already unrealistic that they weren't boo'ed away at their first song.

At least School Of Rock had a cool soundtrack and the bands in the movie played rock (well, the one band that Jack Black was in played a harder song in the beginning of the movie that was pretty good, until they sold out at the Battle Of The Bands lol)

Even the kids played pretty well, and it was way better than the emo stuff in The Rocker. Plus, School of Rock had METALLICA in the soundtrack. HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE METALLICA?

Glad you posted this, because I was hoping it had real rock music. Alternative emo music sux!

I can recommend the tv-movie Pop Rocks, where the band actually played kick ass hard rock music. And didn't end up like depressing crap artists at the end (like in Rock Star).

Of course the A.D.D. songs sucked. That's a given. But the Vesuvius stuff was a bigger joke. They DARED call that metal. They make Poison sound like Megadeth. There's not a single good song in this movie. Even the cover songs are horrible. But back to the A.D.D. thing: They completely ripped the last scene in School of Rock; when the band is called up for an encore. But seriously, who the F an encore of that Emo garbage.

If you even knew anything about metal, you wouldn't even have made such a dumbass comment.

You don't know who the "F" you're talking to dumbass. I grew up in the metal scene....and I mean METAL. I mean Megadeth, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica.

You must've been raised on Bon Jovi and thought that was metal. Talk sh!t now b!tch!!!!

Well, that was quite an eloquent response to a post about Metal. CLEARLY, you have no life and post responses like this to make yourself feel superior to those who express their opinions on online threads. But to further discuss Metal with an obvious dweeb like you would be futile. So go rock out to your Daughtry CD and leave the Metal discussion to those who actually LISTEN to the music.

I agree NemesisRogue.

Vesuvius are a piss take of bands like Poison and Motley Crue. They are known as Hair Metal bands. Basically they are more about pouting make up and hairspray.

Dont get Hair Metal and Metal confused they are nothing alike.

reply

Hair metal is a sub genre of metal...

reply

Hair metal is not metal. It's a pop sub genre.

reply

I love the music. Bought both the cd and the dvd.

Yeah, I don't think the music is as bad as some people make it out to be. The songs by A.D.D. and Vesuvius fit the needs of the film and they do it well.

Imagination is everything. It's a preview of life's coming attractions.

I agree with the op. People went to that show to watch Vesuvius, a hair band with an exalted history of partying and wild living I guess. But first they are serenaded by a scrawny emo brat whining in a cracking voice about his dad leaving?! (BTW you're not the first one this has ever happened to, stop your bitching).

But more than that, I feel bad for Fish. He was meant for the Vesuvius lifestyle. Instead he's stuck with a bunch of tryhards that spend their time on the road playing xbox when Fish wants to be in a vip snorting coke off of a strippers tit. I would too.

Poor music, but it's actually realistic for this day and age. Unfortunately this whiny pop emo has taken rock and completely emasculated it. Rock used to be about partying and fun, or anger and energy. Now it's whining about your girlfriend (90% of the time) who dumped you for a less whiny guy.

So comb your hair over your eyes and slap on some more mascara you little bitchasses. Thanks for contributing to the downfall of the best modern music genre. Now we can choose between emo, Lady Gaga or Young Jeezy. I'd rather have an elephant piss on my face while a hippo bites my scrotum.

...at least we still have our old favorites. BTW we can thank MTV for this of course, seeing as how they made music about image more than music. I also have a theory that this decline in music quality is due to the mass amounts of internet downloads and drop in record sales. The music companies are trying to compensate for the loss of money by signing and producing albums for as many new "artists" as they can, sacrificing talent in their wake.
