Norm from cheers
Anybody else laugh histerically at this line?
I literally laughed from that point on till the end of the movie at that same part.

I remember someone being called Norm from Cheers, but I saw this on opening night and I can't remember in what context.
Remind me again what the joke was lol.

No, he didn't. Norm was played by George Wendt, and the guy in the movie was played by Jeff Garlin. They just look alike. Jeff is actually 14 yrs younger than Wendt.

HAHAHA yes I did! That was actually the funniest line in the whole movie for me. I think its because I see jeff all the time in curb and never even thought of the comparison.
The band manager has a lot of funny lines. he is such a worm. when he calls him norm was truly funny. I also liked when he said they should fire the drummer. He makes a reference to snapping his neck and putting him out of his misery. very funny. And immediately after saying that the band says no way he stays then the manager offers back instantly "you know what that is the right thing to do I couldnt agree more" very funny. Also whenb he meets Christina applegate and learns t5hat she is the singer's mom he says "boy I'd like to spend 9 months inside of you " ha ha ha ha

That's the line that made me laugh out loud. I trust Sudeikis was improvising a lot in this movie, it had that feel to his bits. Between this and his stuff on SNL and 30 Rock I really like the guy.
shareHa ha, Jeff Garlin actually gets that a lot, supposedly. "You look like Norm from 'Cheers'."
What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!
