Is Vesuvius a real live band?

I've been trying to look up info about this band and can't find anything. All I find is the downloaded song content "Promise Land" for the Xbox 360 and PS3. I can't seem to find any of their albums either at any store. I'm just starting to think it's a made up name and song for The Rocker, and was also decided to put it on Rock Band since it's a good song. Could someone please tell me if they are a real band?

reply

They are a band made up for the movie, not a real band.

reply

:D

Now, THAT is funny!

reply

are you gay?

Of course Vesuvius is a real band! I saw them open for Spinal Tap. I think they toured with the Ruttles and maybe even had a collaboration with Sexual Chocolate

reply

Nope. While they did open a few times for Spinal Tap, with mixed results, they never toured with the Rutles. Unless it was the reunion tour, not the 60's and 70's tours. When they actually mattered, when they were 'bigger than Rod.' I had not heard of the Sexual Chocolate but maybe Prince Akeem brought it about. I did hear they had flings with The Frackle's members though.

Why settle for the lesser of two evils? Vote Cthulhu!

reply

lol you guys are awesome.

reply

*beep* win.

Their biggest day was the Mystery Island rock out, where they performed along with The Buggaloos, Josie & The Pussycats, Reggie Wanker, Sister Act, Milli Vanilli, and Spinal Tap.

reply

And the S#itty Beetles. They're not any good.

"Oh, my God. Bear is driving! How can that be?!"

reply

They suck.. They did tour with Crucial Taunt though. I hear they can whale!

Do you look at a menu and say OK?

reply

I still have my stub from their 88 headlining tour with Stillwater, The Wonders, Rex Manning, and The Dewey Cox Experience. Now THAT was a show.
Crap sticks, I just saw on wiki that that was also the show that the guys from 2gether met at. That's the stuff legends are made from.

Amsterdam is like Six Flags for the soul.......

reply

But have you not heard? Supposedly there's talks of them opening up for Dethklok! Woah! Awesome show!

reply

I saw them in the mid-80's opening for Danger Kitty and Steel Dragon. I remember a catastrophe occuring when someone lit a cigarette in the dressing room they all shared, and half the city block went up in flames from the resulting Aqua Net explosion.

The lead singer used to be in Motherboy

reply

Simply put: no :)
They are actors (Will Arnett, Fred Armison) playing them just for the movie.

reply

Yes they are. I think they played around the time of Spinal Tap.

reply

Yea but the still rocked through the 90's... last I saw they were touring with the Lone Rangers.

reply

I think I have an old VHS somewhere of music videos. There was one of their little know crossover song with the rap group N!ggaz With Hats, back when Aerosmith and Run DMC overshadowed them. And a Waynestock performance with members of Electric Apricot and Eddie & The Cruisers.

"I'm The Butler, sir."
"What do you do?"
"I buttle, sir."

reply

What, you didn't know Will Arnett was the lead singer of a legendary rock band? Yeah, he just throws a role into a movie now and then as a little side project.
