Underwhelming

How did everyone feel about this year's Oscars? Could you imagine having a show with a rap performance 15 or 20 years ago on the Oscars--a show that has always been considered more of an old-fashioned and classy ceremony?

It all feels off. Like you're watching some sort of reality show instead of a professional award ceremony for what used to be considered the biggest day in Hollywood.

Times have certainly changed, for better or worse.

I don't know. Maybe I'm old and square.

I have never watched the Oscars, so I don't know what they used to do, or what was done tonight, but rap music is the popular music of the day, and has been for 20-25 years. Did the Oscars shows in the '80s feature any rock & roll music? That would seem to be the equivalent of rap in today's show.

I liked it for the most part. I don't think Eminem should have performed since he wasn't nominated or in any of the nominated films this year. I think rap should only be performed if it is a nominated song that year. I think they should have a host. Other than that, I liked the show.

I had to look up why the hell Eminem was even there. Apparently back when that song won the Oscar, he didn't show up to play the song because he was above all that. So him doing this song was him like, atoning for that and finally making good with the Oscars playing that song on the stage. Which I guess was also the first hiphop song to ever win the award. But they didn't explain any of that crap. It was just a weird thing that happened.

Eminem was there??

wow, what a weak ass sell out he has become

Between this and toeing the right side of the political line, he'll be back to being a movie star in no time.

My overall impression of the whole thing, straight from the presenters mouths, is The Oscars Ain't For the Grandparents No More. I expect this will turn more and more into an MTV movie awards fiasco that caters to the world stage. Whatever. But it was very underwhelming. Show needs Oomph! That's the job of the host. Pull this whole circus together and move it along. Make the event feel important and exciting. But a long time ago, for some mad reason, being the host turned into Roasting the proceedings and everything just got ugly from there. This is supposed to be a celebration of film!

These fucks wish they had the integrity their grandparents had. These people are complete fucks compared to what our grandparents had morals for.
