What was with the old guy and his whispering noises and his bird noises throughout the movie?

Oh god! That character at first appearance seemed to be wise and mysterious. Then when he actually talks - they make him seem half nuts. Just another quirk in this mess of a movie.

shareto give the character some quirkiness and depth? you are right; it ended up being a bit much and certainly awkward. but then again, ace greenberg from bsc was quite a unique character as well (the famous 'paper-clip memo' and someone who used to do yo-yo and magic tricks on the trading floor on a regular basis...even in 2006-2007 ace still had a seat on bsc's equity desk in their new building on madison avenue)...

shareThis sort of. Everyone else tried to be imposing and intimidating, showing how disappointed they were. But his whispering and bird noises were so much the other way it didn't even seem like knew how to play the game, but he was.
