Should there be a Sequel?

How many of you think this movie should have a sequel made? I really like this movie and I would like to see another one made. Anyone else?

reply

Absolutely not. What would it be, Ryan's Revenge?

reply

Yeah, and make it as similar to The Karate Kid II as possible. For example, Jake goes with Rocqua to Brazil, makes a new enemy and gets a new girlfriend, then faces off with his new enemy in a street fight at the end.

Another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men

reply

I like SaintSoldiers idea. But I think they should travel to Africa instead and fight with tribe warriors.

I enjoyed this movie. It was corny, but I like corny when it has a good message. As much as I enjoyed it, a sequel is not always the answer.

Why do you think the storyline could be?

reply

if there's gonna be a sequel, it will probably have new characters.

Wow i love this movie!
But I cant think of a good sequel plot...

reply

I like the movie, just because Cam Gigandet was co-starring. I don't think they will make a sequel, because the original did not fare that well on the Box Office.
If ever they make a sequel, I hope Cam Gigandet would play the lead. Cam has a more good looking face, well-defined body than Sean Faris. And the golden skin, too.

i think if another movie were made they should try and keep the same cast. the cast was good. as for the plot i believe ryan and jake should be friends and not foes in the new movie. they should be cool with each other and as for the problem perhaps their should be some new kids in school or town causing problems and messing with baja miller and jakes younger brother. what do you think> just an idea.

reply

That actually sounds pretty decent jlemoine13. Except i think Jake and Ryan should have a friendly rivalry with each other. They are friends but they constantly spar with each other. Their should be some news guys in town who beat up Charlie and hospitalise Jake's mom so Jake asks his former rival for help in taking care of them whih ends in a showdown between Jake and Ryan vs the new guys.

its hard to come up with a sequel that isnt predictable and mainstream. i agree with the friendly rivalry idea. maybe Baja's 3 Mexican cousins come to town, dont like Jake, and start giving Charlie *beep* Ryan hospitalizes one of them after he does something to piss him off and because he has become fairly close to Charlie. later on as Charlies practising tennis outside the remaining two kidnap him, both in order to get back at Jake who they dont like, and because their bullying of Charlie is one of the main reasons their bro got knocked out by Ryan. the 2 cousins want to beat Jake up, so they leave a note leading him to some location. Jake wants to go alone in his rage, but Baja tells Ryan, who, because he feels has gotten himself involved, tags along.

for the ending i have come up with 3 different situations.
1. Jake is about to be killed, but Ryan saves him by knocking out the attacker.
2. Jake is about to be killed, but Ryan saves hum by knocking out the attacker, and ends up getting stabbed in the process, is sent to hospital at the end of the movie, and becomes a cripple. (optional, goes on to win gold at the Paralympics, lol)
3. Jake and Ryan are getting the crap beaten out of them when Roqua turns up in a Hummer and beats the crap out of all of them.

There shouldn't have been a first one made, let alone a sequel.

reply

I don't know where they would go in a sequel. What the movie didn't reveal is what the mom did for a living. We know they movied to Florida because of Charlie's tennis skills. The sequel could involve Ryan and Jake becoming friends. The end of the movie showed Ryan gaining some respect for Jake. I think Ryan could get into a situation where he goes to Jake for some help. Any thoughts?
