I admit it...it's a guilty pleasure

I'm not saying this film is great or anything. I recognize its flaws, its generic story, questionable moral, but I've gotta say...it's good, mindless fun. I was genuinely entertained with this film. It's not a game changer, but I can probably watch this film at any time of the day, any day. I thought the acting was actually better than most high-school oriented films, and the martial arts sequences were actually done really well. Like I said, it's a guilty pleasure.

Anyone else feel the same?

I agree. Its agreat film. A modernized Karate Kid. Great fight scenes and interesting characters who seem real. We have known people like that.

I too am an avid film watcher and am able to see all the flaws this movie has to offer but it's a guilty pleasure for me too

It is a guilty pleasure of mine. I can admit that I have a love/hate relationship with this movie. There were a lot of things that I didn't like about this movie, yet I was very entertained by it and I can't hate the movie for delivering on entertainment.

I agree.

I just came to this board to see it getting bashed all over the place.

What I don't get is that this film delivers exactly what you expect. It's a teen movie with good looking boys and girls, loaded with action and an over used plot line.

So what? Not like it's trying to be The Godfather or something.

Good fun.

Yes, it's a shame it's soooooo cliche as I thought the "MMA" element is a pretty unique and potent one, and those scenes are well staged. I finally watched it the other night. Overall, I guiltily enjoyed it lol.
