One thing I don't get about Jake's Mom

I never understood why she went from forbidding him from fighting to finally accepting the fact that he embraced his fighting. I don't think the movie explained this too well.

The first time she sees his gloves in the bag she tells him that he has to stop fighting and stop going to the MMA training. Eventually though she goes to see the place he trains and she decides to pay for his training sessions with Jean Roqua. And then when she catches him preparing for his final fight at the Beatdown she lets him go.

Could it be that maybe she perceives some type of a change in him as a result of his MMA training?

I think you're probably right. She wasn't really a major character.

I think that it's inferred that this is the case.🐭

She was initially scared of losing him (the dad had just died). She was realised she was putting her own insecurities before her sons needs.
