The professor you're talking too isn't so bright if he thinks that Lopez is in her 60's. She is in her early 50's. Her love interest (Maluma) in the film is in his late 20's. May-December romances are not gross.
Compared to the source material, the film cast is less diverse and much "whiter" than the graphic novel. If you haven't seen the film, then why do you think it is feminist propaganda?
The lead character was married multiple times and then marries a complete stranger on impulse. The film has a predictable conclusion; if it ran another half hour, it could have shown their eventual divorce. :)
At the end the film is light hearted and meaningless. I think if you tried a bit less hard to be offended by something you know nothing about, you might enjoy yourself more.
