Good show, but I think a lot of these places are just average

I've eaten at 10 of the restaurants that he's visited. Only 2 or 3 really impressed me, and the rest were either average, or just had enormous portions that made it a novelty. I've started to notice he seems less enthusiastic about the food at certain places. I'll bet he feels insincere so he's not playing it up as much.

Never been to any of them but they seem to just be about excess rather than flavours and quality.

I have to imagine that if it were limited to only cuisine that was actually impressive, they'd eventually run out of places to go.

It's almost as if there needs to be a "best of" or some other indicator for what is actually good and worth visiting. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of places.
