How many seasons?

So it says that it started in 2006, it's now 2015. That's 6 years but it also says 22 seasons. So that's just over 3 seasons per year. Does that make sense when shows usually only have 1 season per year.

maybe its a literal sense of the word season, spring, winter, fall, summer. at this rate its going to "Out Season" Gunsmoke in another year or two.
