Did anyone love it on a rewatch?

Its amazing how a revisit can completely change a film. Now admittedly, i first saw this film when i was 16, and i didnt understand a TON of the themes in the film. Especially the existentialism, mid life crisis and pondering about the mysteries of life.

And honestly, i did not know what to make of it then. But now, i absolutely love it! Its a lot funnier than i remember, and i like to think of it as a modern fable, exploring mid life crisis from a dead pan-ish style. This used to be the odd one out in the Coen Brothers catalog, but now i think its one of my favorites!

Did anyone else have a similar experience?

Hello friend. That's lame, i should give you a name.

Yup. Despised it on first view. I didn't get it at all. On second view I was able to absorb more and appreciated the phenomenal acting by the lead character.

I think on the first view I was frustrated just like the main character. I wanted answers but this movie isn't about that. I think having the mentality going in on the second view knowing that you won't have everything answered made it more enjoyable to watch.

Yes! Great dark comedy indeed.

I saw it 2 years ago and again today. I definitely liked it, in an existential way.

I've seen more Coen Bros. films, and one especially, "No Country for Old Men" bent my thinking enough to appreciate this one more.

"Love it," though? Maybe upon a third viewing in a few years.

They sure did seem to employ every Jew in Hollywood, though. I recognized many character actors, esp. Messrs. Kind and Wyner.

I loved the disclaimer, "No Jews were harmed in the making of this picture."

Yes. It's even better the second time around.
