I would say that this was only the show's explanation (but then we're discussing the show here, after all), except that I strongly, STRONGLY suspect it was true in real life given how much of a phony Holmes was.
It's completely conceivable to me that the real Holmes, even more than the Seyfried portrayal, manipulated Balwani by becoming what she sensed he wanted. In essence, she "fulfilled his fantasy."
In "Disclosure," Demi Moore's character did something similar, very purposely changing her entire look to appear more like the CEO's daughter. share
