I was planning on watching this film, since I enjoy Shakespeare adaptations. However, a fellow professor at the university I lecture at mentioned that a black man plays Macbeth, the brave Scottish general who becomes king.
I have also been informed that Macduff is similarly played by a Nubian.
How absurd.
Shame on Joe Coen for giving in to the SJW mob and making a piece of propaganda that acknowledges that people of color exist and can act in movies.
yes, macbeth is played by denzel washington. apart from that absurd casting choice, the film seems to stick closely to the source material, not even updating the language...
shareI don't think it was woke at all. Denzel is the least woke of many actors out there. I highly recommend you look him up, you don't seem very familiar with him.

And I can't wait for the Shaka Zulu adaption with Gary Oldman in the titular role. I'm also almost anticipating as much Christian Bale as Kunta Kinte in the upcoming Roots remake. I'm sure everyone will be fine with that...
