She was miscast, indeed. Also she was presented as a flakey, lazy young woman while she looked like someone mature and reliable. Just another one in a long series of flaws to be found in this 'film"

If she's only 30, she's a 30-year-old who could easily pass for 35.

Nah, not really. I mean, you could tell me she's 25 and I'd believe you, but I'd think she looks older than her age.

I figured she was mid-30s.

Are you talking about Fred (the young man in the same house who had a live in girlfriend) ? Because I to thought that he was her older son, but a post in another thread said it was her brother. So I'm not sure. But yeah, she looks way to young to be his mother.
