does Belle even deserve Ben? (spoilers)

Watching this season I just get more and more annoyed at Belle. I don't mean her being a prostitute she's happy with that and so is he, but as a gf in general she kinda sucks. Talk about taking him for granted! I thought her going off to new york without telling him and just writing a note was so out of line, it wasn't like he'd done something terrible to hurt her feelings, all he did was defend Poppy.
If she hadn't had such a horrible time in NYC and that bizarre client hadn't told her people don't value things until it's gone, would she have even felt bad about taking off like that? She doesn't seem to give anything back in the relationship, always snapping at him or blowing him off. So disappointed! waited all this time for them to get together and now they have i'm hoping Ben dumps her for even a little while so she can truly realise how lousy she's been.

Agreed. If I were Ben I would have left a long time ago. Hannah is a crappy girlfriend. Okay, she's a prostitute and she has to work but she is constantly blowing him off and like you said, always mad at him for something I don't quite get. And leaving for NYC just like that? That would be the last drop for me. If the movie had been what she wanted she would have stayed there for a long time and forget about her boyfriend. She can be a good prostitute but she sucks as a girlfriend.

I don't like her choices either, but I think that's kind of the point. The show seems to try to show the feelings and therefore actions of real people, even if we don't agree with or like them. It does kind of suck not to like the main character though.

Resistance is useless? Surely you don't expect ALL the people to welcome you with open arms?

I don't feel Ben's exactly the perfect boyfriend either though. He seems so touchy. If something is wrong, his automatic reaction is to get pissed at her. If she's upset about something, he gets defensive and it turns into a yelling match. It's not like he ever tries to defuse the situation.

Not saying he's a horrible guy, just that they kind of deserve eachother. I think if Belle's life gets a little less crazy things will start fitting together better.

Ben knew what he was getting into. Remember that this isn't their first time dating. They'd dated before and Ben, in season 1, even referred to her as the worst girlfriend in the world.

Yeh I kind of have to agree that I cant feel sorry for Ben. He totaly knew what he was signing up for when he got back with Hannah. She is high maintenance and things are never going to be a bed of roses with her. There will always be some drama or issue. But deep down he must love that about her because he keeps coming back for more.

True he did know what Hannah was like but I think he expected her to change a little for him, that's part of relationships isn't it compromise? I don't agree that he has to love that about Hannah to keep coming back for more, I think he loves Hannah and comes back in spite of it.

But that still doesn't excuse Hannah's behaviour. If she had no intention of changing she shouldn't have taken him back and messed him about! If being the best prostitute is more important to her than being a decent girlfriend then why is she playing with his feelings. She seemed as upset that a client had booked an appointment with another call girl as finding her boyfriend in bed with another girl!

Ben's no 'innocent victim' in this so to speak but that doesn't mean he deserves the way he's been treated, or that he 'signed up for it'

Hmm, I also think Ben isn't that great of a catch. After all, he sleeps with Jackie, Hannah's sister, even though Hannah is obviously annoyed and weirded out by their relationship. Not to mention his passive aggressive attacks on the guys Hannah date - getting very drunk seems to be the main way he deals with the idea of Hannah dating other people. He seems possessive. All right, sometimes an unusually good friend, but still, Ben is hardly a spineless innocent.

After watching this show, I can firmly say that they are both crap. I am glad they split up...they were completely *beep* up for each other! lol sorry...but they're a mess.

They were both extremely immature at times, and often 'ran' from their issues instead of facing them. That in itself is a sure sign of doom for a relationship.

No she doesn't. He seem at least a bit more well.. a lot more understanding than she is. She can't even be straight and open with him, like she first was. Whatever relationship.. I think it should be based on honesty and openness. Ben deserves way more. He's not perfect either but Belle/Hannah just takes him for granted.
