Denis Hopper Reading?

Just as they're showing coverage on the Mad Dog Morgan film, there are clips of Dennis Hopper reading a book into a camera [it's close up so you can actually see the book] just wondering does anyone know what it was?
It sounded crazy... then again, the guy reading it and all.

Why he was reading it, I have no idea. Maybe someone gave it to him to autograph.

The paperback edition he had contained the screenplay from the movie -- as both he and Peter Fonda improvised most of their scenes, the book is a transcription of the dialogue from the movie.
