So if the Japanese billionaire (presumably) only wanted the head of an Alpha, why not just hire a team to do exactly that? Apparently that queen shows up as soon as you enter the place, and she seems fairly easy to take down, so there's zero reason this "job" couldn't have been wrapped up in 10 minutes tops.
Considering there were dumbasses willing to go in there for a payday the low five figures with no questions asked, you could hire a cheap team of expendables, buy some equipment, and spend about 300 grand to get it done.
Good point. Plot made no sense, many of the individual scenes did not make sense. . But if you like zombies getting their heads blown off, this is the movie.
I guess you could argue that he didn't want anyone else knowing the true reason for the trip, as they could either decide to take the head for themselves (easier than hiding a thousand pounds worth of cash) or tell people afterwards (or blackmail so they don't tell).
A billionaire could hire his own private force to do it and not involve outsiders. This movie was all kinds of stupid. Such a bad film. Hard to believe Snyder went from Dawn of the Dead which I liked a lot to this trash.
I think this is what bothered me the most about the film. I mean there are a lot of dumb things going on here, but the whole plot was incredibly stupid. Just hire the people to do that job, seemed quite easy. Not only that, he used the fake heist gimmick for multiple teams. Just hire one of those teams to bag a head! It seemed like the main plot/purpose of the film was the heist and then Snyder all of sudden decided, nah we need a twist here! You could have kept the heist plot and then had Mr. Obvious/bad henchman guy betray his employer and say he wants to nab a head to sell on the black market which creates the udder chaos that follows.
Anyway, awful film, much too long, horrible writing, and Snyder's worst to date. The idea is interesting, but poor execution.
I really wanted to like the film and I thought from the beginning it was going to be funny and shlock, but it gets very serious and just too many things that were too stupid that they just took me out of the film. The action and gore was great, Snyder always does that really well.
The opening montage of the characters fighting the zombie outbreak and teaming up to escape looked like it would have been a better film than what we got!
Example. He didn't tell them about the boobie traps in the safe room.
If you send a team to crack your safe, THAT IS THE FIRST THING THAT YOU TELL THEM.
His character was idiotic at best.
BUT
Movie was fun to watch although it was a bit slow but whatever. Good flick.
He DID tell them about the booby traps. He didn’t tell them exactly what they were, and he lied about them being “non-lethal”, but he did warn them that there were countermeasures in place before they could reach the safe.
