that the SMART thing to do would have been to go along with the plan until they got back to land or at least until some authorities were present, THEN tell the truth. Four guys against two girls and they were out to sea. How stupid can you get to go crazy and give them a reason to kill them too. I've seen this so many times and just can't believe how stupid some people are. You play along and wait for your chance. It's as stupid as someone thinking they can blackmail a killer and live. How dumb is THAT?

come ON love, you're thinking way too deeply into it.

this sort of stupidity happens ALL the time in films, it's a classic example of the "dumb blonde stereotype who's running up the stairs away from the killer instead of out the front door"

annoying? sure, but it's regular. And after all, if they all wised up, played it sensible and survived, would have been a very short and boring film, huh?
