'I can't believe...' Does the most annoying thing ever!

That line is one of the things that will put me off a movie.

"I can't believe that (something related to back story)".

Example:

We need to know the characters are in college.

Solution:

"I can't believe this time last week we were in college!"

Example:

We need to know a character's mother died when they were a child.

Solution:

"I can't believe my mother has been dead so many years."

It's the laziest way of providing backstory imaginable and it always reads with an audible clunk. Why would someone just announce something like that out of the blue? Why can't they believe it? They already know it!

God I hate that line, and it's said in this movie at least 3 times.

Plus I despised every single character. Especially the guy with the scar on his lip who inexplicably spoke like a poor impression of a "ghetto" black man. The girls all just seemed like complete bimbos too. There was not a single character who wasn't insufferably annoying.

Wow, I really hated this movie lol
