This movie nails it perfectly!

We are losing ourselves to technology more and more.

Virtual Reality is already being developed for mass scale production for the consumer.

In say 20 years I predict that we'll all have a way to move around like we do in real life but then in a virtual created world or location hosted from our own home and can move to other areas.

Like minecraft. You probably think this guy is a nutter.

But just look around. I see already a global obsession of ipads, smartphones and the like 24/7.

Most people can't live without their smarthpone or checking on facebook.

I can perfectly however.

It's happening, right now!! Oh, no!

I do not necessarily agree w/your points, but I don't fully understand & many may be true.

I commend you on your writing style -- having spaces between lines of thought (ie paragraphs). I get perturbed, in reading some reviews (or stuff on other websites) which are a continuous line of text, having no demarcation.

I would guess that your job is in business or journalism. Although, the latter has gone down, including one sentence for a paragraph. That hinders the comprehension of a story & panders to the low intelligent people.

If either of those are not true, you might just have a basic understanding of English & its grammatical correctness, which few have -- even in media.

I do not have much commentary to the substance of your comment. Although, I do see that some are too dependent on technology. I know basically nothing about minecraft, having not really played video games since my early post-puberty in the early 80s (Atari). So, I cannot really get any reference to that, other than being juvenile *beep*

Not just some but all that can afford it are technology addicts. My English is quite fine thank you.

I don't know what "technology addicts" are, nor its relevance.

I complimented you on your English. Your response is beguiling. You act as if I insulted you. You also self-complimented, which is crass, unverified & shows low self-esteem.

You could have agreed with me & typed "thanks for liking my English," but you showed insecurity & black of comprehension & exposed yourself to not knowing English very well. I didn't intend to bash you, but I guess that I did.

I think you are to smart for your own good. Especially online you don't need to come off as smart as you actually might be.

And I don't know what you consider an insult but your comment was:

Although, the latter has gone down, including one sentence for a paragraph. That hinders the comprehension of a story & panders to the low intelligent people.

Suggesting I'm one of those low intelligent people... Don't analyze my comments so much and pass your judgement on them as if it has any purpose.

I hope your not one of those people who view themselves better then the rest because you got big brains.

Everyone has a role to play in life. I may not be a genius but I am a unique individual with certain talents like everyone else.

I'm not a fan of your response style and judgement. Its to far fetched and off putting to converse with.

You might be an active user of quora?

You've made a few grammatical errors yourself, fyi

Are you serious? You sound like some sort of android. Intelligence for the most part wistfuly spills from the tongue. Sorry but in your case it sounds blocky and as though you are trying too hard to come off as an intellectual. Come to think of it it reads as though english is not your first language. Is that so?

There's little doubt the film is quite plausible in its commentary on the insatiable human appetite for new interactive technologies and virtual environments.🐭

yes and no. Read Karl Marx' theory of capitalism.

It is only the exploited class who is alienated from the self. The oppressing class is very much enjoying a humane life. The oppressing class travel the world, make free love on tropical beaches, and generally enjoy nature and sh!t, while their servants do all the trivial tasks like cleaning the house, washing and ironing clothes, growing crops and transforming it into food, paving roads and building cars or helicopters or yachts, for the oppressors to just get in and experience it all as humans.

We - the workers, we are forced to waste our lives at our job slot, crouched on a chair over a computer, moving bytes around in the hdd, 8 hours a day, 1 hour more for transportation, and 3 hours more for cooking food, cleaning the house, ironing the clothes, and other robotic tasks. We - the workers, are eating not real food, but pink slime, not real milk, but omega 3 soylent green sh!t, not butter but margarine, not real farm chicken meat but anabolic antibiotic infested abominations from industrial reinforced concrete kennels.

In capitalism, it is the exploited who is being transformed into a machine. Not the oppressor.

I was thinking of real life virtual reality when I saw this movie. It was kind of freaky watching this movie. The niches people have come up with in this world is amusing. They really put a lot of thought into this movie.

All I know is I know people who look at the phone every few minutes. They never go out to movies but wait until they can order them from home. They don't go to stores because they prefer to order online. Tech dominates their lives. This film definitely gets some things right.

For sure. Avatars would be very convenient, but simple navigation would be a trial. Having a robot do your job for you would be OK for a while.
