Why Was Tatiana Obsessed with Casimoto or Whatever

She worshiped the ground he walked on. She didn't allow anyone to complain about the food he cooked. And when Ramsey didn't like the food, she said, "Don't tell the chefs" and specifically told Casimoto that he had done a great job. She pretty much kissed the ground he walked on constantly. And the man seemed like he had some sort of mental problem. I mean a grown man can't make meat balls? And he supposedly had 15 yrs experience? I just didn't understand any of that part of this episode. It was actually really odd to me how obsessed with him she was.

I share your confusion as far as why Tatiana kept Casmiro [I THINK that's how it's spelled], but I don't recall feeling that she was obsessed with him! I thought she kept him out of loyalty, i.e., he had been there for many years, so as a gesture of confidence to the old owner she kept him on. But once Ramsay uncovered what a truly crap 'chef' he was, she did the right thing, albeit unhappily. Again, I just think she felt a certain loyalty to him due to his long time at the restaurant, but she was able to fire him once she realized how bad he was.

What I DON'T understand is how he ever cooked successfully in the first place! I mean the restaurant had been successful; its history was long, so it must have been doing okay all those years. So what happened? Why did the cooking suddenly go so badly downhill--with the same kitchen staff? 

I guess not really "obsessed" but I can't think of another word to describe it. The waitresses couldn't tell him his food was bad. She was constantly trying to comfort him and give him acolades. It was like his feelings came before the restaurant which was her business and her family's livlihood - so in a way I think to me that is obsessive behavior. If someone can't see someone's faults and put themselves in jepordy because of that I think that's a tad obsessive.

I just didn't understand it either. Maybe Charlie was just a better leader. That one girl that worked in the kitchen was really on the ball. Maybe Charlie just delegated and Casmiro was more a figure head. But to me he seemed almost mentally retarded. This is not some sort of hateful comment. But just an observation. He just stood there 99.9% of the time with this dumb look on his face and couldn't handle simple tasks.

Another thing that bothered me was Tatiania was so selfish. She kept saying it was her business and that she had more invested in it than her family when they had their houses on the line and she did not.

Oh, I see what you're saying. I really think Tatiana was AFRAID of upsetting Casmiro--I think she figured if she pissed him off, he'd quit, and she'd be left in a lurch. Ironically, if he had quit, she could have promoted the sous chef [I can't recall her name right now] and things may have worked out a lot better! But it was probably fear that rocking the boat would lead to disaster, so she refused to let the servers tell Casmiro about complaints, and she walked on eggshells around him.

I also see what you're saying about Casmiro. I wouldn't go so far as to say he was retarded, but low IQ? Yes, definitely. He did seem kind of...slow...mentally.

I have mixed feelings about Tatiana. She seemed almost oblivious to the fact that her mom and sister stood to lose THEIR HOMES because of her! And when Gordon asked how much SHE had invested in the restaurant, and she said something like "about a thousand" I just shook my head. They've put their houses on the line, she coughed up $1,000, but somehow it's all about her. But I also felt sorry for her, because I do think she sincerely cared about the restaurant and wanted it to work.

I found that very odd as well. I can't tell what's editing and what's not, but it appeared the mother was very upset at the idea also. Then the whole sobbing in the bathroom scene, just weird.

Maybe they were in a relationship but couldn't show it for some reason???

Also didn't understand the search for a new chef when they had a good sous chef there. Guessing she didn't want the job?

I just got creepy vibes about the whole thing. She was putting her business, and her family, at risk for one man with the brains of a pinecone.
