Which episode was this?

Hi, I stumbled upon this programme ages ago but I've never been able to remember/find one particular episode.

As far as I'm aware it was a family run restaurant, and they argued all the time. The son was the owner or manager or something.

I remember there being a mix-up with the tickets and the chef didn't know if it was for table 2 or table 42, prompting a rant of, 'It's table 42 with 2 guests! Table 2 does not have 42 *beep* guests!'

And there was something about the chef walking out and alleging that the mother was on prozac.

Does anyone remember this episode? Thanks in advance.

That's a dead giveaway! The episode, actually, episodes, you're looking for are "Burger Kitchen" parts one and two.

Just watched this up on YT, forgot how shocking it was. It was like a real life soap opera.

reply

Yes, it really was like a soap opera! 

I know that if I were the son, I'd be BEYOND LIVID at the father for using his [the son's] inheritance behind his back. We're not talking a few thousand dollars, but a few HUNDRED thousand dollars. Livid, I tell you!

And now that we know the restaurant ended up closing...how on earth can they ever "fix" the situation with the lost inheritance money? How can they have a normal relationship?

The dad was on another planet. "My son has a lot of resentment towards me, I'm not sure why." I made sure I googled the restaurant and felt really sorry for the son that it had closed. I did find one Yelp review that confirmed the dad's breath issue though! :P

Also, I loved Gordon Ramsay's bemusement that the chef was called David Blaine!

Burger Kitchen is one restaurant I ALWAYS watch again. It's kind of like a train wreck...you just have to look. 

The dad, yeah, I don't know what planet he was on.

That was funny. Too bad the owners didn't let this David Blaine work his magic in the kitchen. It looked like he actually KNEW how to cook, but they wouldn't let him do anything but their stupid menu.

I was rooting for David Blaine, the chef, that is. I was pleased for him when he cooked his redemption burger, but I couldn't understand why the woman seemed so determined to hate his cooking. Surely if you think he's a bad chef, you'd fire him? Also, I loved how Gordon assumed the dad had cooked himself a burger for lunch...he wasn't interested in the dad's burger at all!
