Do these owners not have internet?
I mean have never heard of Yelp! or any of the other review sites? I'm always so amazed they're in shock that people don't like the food.

shareThey have heard of Yelp.
However some of the owners like Alan from "Burger Kitchen" and the now infamous Amy (from "Amy's Baking Company") think that people on Yelp are either bullies or that Yelp is out to get them.
There really are a lot of wackos and phonies on yelp. I did not fully realize that until I saw some of the reviews for a legendary North Jersey pizzeria. A lot of those criticisms weren't even valid. I suspect they were from competitors.
Amy from Amy's Baking Company was a total nutcase. It doesn't seem that difficult for owners to get negative reviews removed from yelp.
One of the worst sites for customer feedback is dealerrater.com for car dealerships. Most of the negative feedback gets removed so almost every dealership looks great. What a crock. Even if a customer has a legitimate complaint it gets deleted if it more than a year old. That is much too short.
jefgg - would you mind telling me what place it was? I used to live up in that area.
shareI was referring to Ray's Pizza in Verona, NJ.
I am very proud to be from the Exit 153A area. FUGGETABOUTIT!
Used to live around Exit 140, then moved to exit 117. I miss saying where I live by exit number. (Live all the way across the country now)
And ah yes, I know of the place. Thanks!
Used to live around Exit 140, then moved to exit 117. I miss saying where I live by exit number.I've never heard of doing that! But I'm a California girl...but I did live in a few other states before moving back home. Apparently just not states where that's a common practice.

for a little more about the Jersey catchphrase "what exit".
I think the reviews on Google profiles are becoming more popular.
