Mr. Beckerd, Season 5, 1884, what was the deal?
The guy who asks for fresh white roses for his "woman", and then she turns up dead later. What happened? Was she a prostitute? Was that a murder or a suicide?
shareIt's very ambiguous but the way I read it after having re watched the series several times is that he engaged in premarital relations with her and at the time this was considered a grave, terrible sin. Remember when he's talking about Nucky about if he'd sacrifice everything even the judgement of God for love? I get the impression he felt so guilty for having sex with her he killed her.

The point was in my opinion more to show the commodore cleared things like this without getting the business to suffer. Went to show Nucky nothing couldn't get in the way, even murder.
