I was hoping he would get out and they would live happily ever after, but nooo, we were denied a feel good ending. I hate sad endings, thy should have at least mde an alternate happy ending, that would have happened if I was in charge.

If instead of her suicide [Spoilers] Hanna had left prison, taken the rehabilitation job Michael found for her (a feature in the book), and become a surrogate mother/aunt to his daughter we might have had something.
shareforget their relationship someone being falsely imprisoned and hanging themselves for it is reason enough to hate this movie. hanna didn't deserve to die.
