He had one film in his contract though. But I'm happy he didn't made an appearance in Shazam because the new actor can appear in the new universe without worriyng with his face.

Eurgh. I don't blame Cavill for the promlems with the DC movies, he did his best but the scripts sucked so bad there wasn't much he could do.

If Hammer does better, it won't be because he's a better actor, because Hammer is nothing to write home about and IMHO never will be.

I love them both in Man From UNCLE. I think Cavil is a very good actor but as you said, the script (and writing!). I don't know how well Armie is suited to the role though. I feel weary of giving DC more chances. I'll watch the next Wonder Woman and Shazam but other than those, I'll skip more DC. Too much garbage.

I thought Cavill was terrible in "TMFU", he put all his energy into trying to fake an American accent (badly) and had no energy left over with which to charm.

Hammer was a bit better, but still nothing to write home about.

Hammer is a good choice but I'd rather have a completely unknown actor cast in the role like Reeve, Routh and Cavill

Been gone. Besides, if they didn't want to pay Cavill more money after the role made him famous to begin with, no way they're gonna hire an actor with some actual clout right now after crawling his way back up from the bottom with flops like Lone Ranger or Man from UNCLE. Even if I did enjoy Man from UNCLE.
