I felt that was weird too, i'm guessing they were trying to avoid another instance of wanton mass destruction from Man Of Steel.

Yes, normally she is very evenly matched with Superman (although I think he wins if there is no kryptonite involved.) But here she is fighting purely defensively. She didn’t want to harm him.
