JL hit another low-point as the daily total for Friday within USA theaters slipped below Thor:Ragnarok. JL released two weeks after T:R and took a lot of screens and eyes away from T:R but since then T:R has performed quite steadily and predictably while JL faltered and continues to falter.
JL has a respectable $652 Million and should end around $655 WW but because of the production cost, expectation and Warner DC branding that are the benchmarks for financial success the film is failing.
Somewhere in Movie Accounting land JL will make money through Streaming, media sales, merchandising and other avenues but the DCEU or DCCU or whatever it is called someone has to make a decision.
P.S., There will be no Snyder only Blu-Ray, Extended, criterion, Collectors, Director's release to fleece delusional zealots.

Oh no! Wait a second! The best film DCEU has ever done and will probably do was beaten by all three MCU movies in 2017! Ouch! How pathetic... By the way, where is Justice League in this top 10, yes, THE JUSTICE LEAGUE movie?
When the third Thor movie only makes $30m more than the first Wonder Woman movie then you have a failure on your hands and not something to be proud of.
When the third Thor movie only makes $30m more than the first Wonder Woman movie then you have a failure on your hands and not something to be proud of.
When the 1st Justice League movie starring Wonder Woman and the other members of DC's Holy Trinity makes $167 Million LESS than a Wonder Woman movie what do you call that?
Flawless Victory?
Something to be impressed with?
Six Heads in a Duffel Bag? It would have been 8 had Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter joined the League. Why didn't they ever call themselves the Justice League in the movie?
It didn't fail it was just released to close to The Last Jedi. And there was other technical issues with getting the movie released overseas.
Okay, let's break that down. Lots to unpack in there.
1. Released too close to The Last Jedi: That would be Failed planning.
2. Technical issues with getting the Movie released overseas: That would be Failed execution
3. Both of those are because of Failed Management
4. Failed Management is a result of Failed Leadership
So we have Failed, management, leadership, execution, planning and failed financial results.
It may have under performed but it is not a failure. The disc sales and rentals should make up for any shortcomings at the theater.
Past tense vs present tense vs future tense are your friends. As of today for the Past Tense JL HAS failed. Present Tense is that JL IS failing. Future Tense is that JL will not continue to fail due to potential sales of media, streaming and ancillary merchandise.
Put has the WB/DC squandered a large percentage of it's future financial income due to the damage of the Intellectual Property that was JL?

So now the line is to blame the lack of box office on the release date and the proximity to "The Last Jedi"? My goodness, wasn't there almost four full weeks between the release of JL (11/17/2017) and TLJ (12/15/2017)? How much of a gap do you suppose JL needed so it could have performed to full box office potential? I'm also pretty sure that JL was labeled a box office failure WELL before TLJ came out... it had already failed by week 2, for crying out loud.
By comparison, JL was released only two weeks after T:R, and, while it did cut into T:R's third weekend box office, it didn't seem to do much to damage its total box office. JL had almost a FULL MONTH with no major releases to compete with and failed spectacularly!
If you're going to make the claim about "technical issues releasing overseas", you really need to follow that up with some kind of proof. I did a quick search for "Justice League overseas release issues" and couldn't find a single article detailing any kind of overseas problems. In fact, unlike T:R, which had a staggered release, JL released everywhere in the world at the same time.
So your excuses here as to why JL "didn't fail" are totally bogus and are just that... excuses!
True, but it didn't just Happen to JL. This wasn't an accident nor was it JL's destiny. JL along with WB/DC are the architects of their own rather impressive failings and potentially demise.
