You do know that you will not get a response that will be in the form of an honest discussion and in reality the fanatics aren't to blame for the poor performance of JL?
I'm not a fanatic nor a zealot for JL but I thought that even a mediocre JL movie would still gross $1 Billion WW. I saw the movie and it was entertaining (will buy the Blu-Ray) but don't understand why sooooo many have decided to NOT see the film in theaters. The biggest let down for me was that there were no WOW, iconic images or memorable moments in the entire film for me.
Superman's fight with the JL was nice but only because I wanted Batman to get his azz kicked.
Reasonably one would think that as many people that saw Wonder Woman would also, maybe, perhaps want to see justice League? JL's domestic BO being roughly 1/3 of The Avengers domestic Box Office is really a troubling indicator of fans, fanatics, and casual viewers not caring about Justice League?
Forget about the MCU vs JL comparison for the moment. What was ever going to be the maximum Box Office for a JL movie?
I think the reason why JL didn't make over 1 Billion was because the average film-goers didn't like the direction the franchise was going.
That is a strong possibility. But why would the average film goers care that much about the DC franchises? It is still a movie. Transformers box office is up and down so there is some play in the audience market that studios can take advantage of, release schedules, time of year of the release, run-times, etc.
But if average film-goers are tuned out of the DCEU and the JL how do you get them back? That is IF Warner ever had them.

I think the average film-goer watches both franchises, the MCU and the DCEU they like MCU and compare the DCEU with it and consider the DCEU inferior to its rivals films. After the MCUs success the DCEU is unwatchable for them.
The best thing to do would be DC rebooting the universe with new actors and a new direction.
