Worst CBM ever makes more money than 10 MCU movies.

This has to be a conundrum for the Marvelites.

lolz at this...

Steel made more money than 10 MCU movies?

Or are you talking about Batman & Robin?

Catwoman?

Superman IV?

Just admit WB has been screwing up what should be sure fire properties since the get-go with Wonder woman being the only one that does it justice (league) and be angry at WB, not Marvel.

Also, got to love how you've already given up hope on Justice League and have to repost threads about Suicide Squad. You've just proven what everyone says about the DCEU correct.

The "Butthurt" is strong with this one. Let's find him some tampons for the bleeding.

reply

"Does he bleed?"

"I think something is definitely bleeding."

Your troubles dealing with loss are your own.

reply

Ackbar makes a good point, if DCEU movies are so bad then why do they still make more money than MCU movies? SS only made 30m less than GotG.

reply

Because of the characters.

Man of Steel was about Superman.

Batman v Superman had the title characters plus Wonder Woman.

Suicide Squad advertised the Joker.

Wonder Woman was well received so it obviously made money plus the character.

And after the reception of Justice League people lost faith in the brand and decided not to go see it.

You are just stating the obvious reasons. The point I am trying to make is that even though rotten tomatoes says that DCEU movies are rotten they still make money. The worst movie ever made was Transformers 4 and it made 1.1 billion. If bad movies make money and good movies make the same amount then how can you judge a movie? Just because a movie doesn't make a billion doesn't mean it is a bad movie.

reply

you judge a movie based on your own good ol' fashion common sense. If it is indeed generally seen as a crappy movie but you still like it, that's on you.

Revenue/price tag is hardly an indicator of quality for anything in life. Caviar is pricey, but if you don't like Caviar no matter how many people defend its taste, doesn't make it tasty.

The thing is, Avengers made 1,5 billion Dollars, Justice League didn't even surpassed Avengers domestic box-office. Shouldn't DCs teamup film make atleast the same if not more?

Avengers members were characters that many people never heard of while everyone knows Superman and Batman and Marvels solo films before Avengers didn't made as much as DCs first 4 films.

So that means not only should Justice League make as much money as Avengers it should have made more by now.

But no, not only did it not accomplish that it even made less than every other DCEU film worldwide. What I mean is audiences didn't like how the Universe was build and lost trust in DC.

What I'm trying to say is the first 4 DCEU films and the reception of this film destroyed it's box-office.

A film is judged by peoples opinion on it. Whas the story good? Did the Actors act well? How was the camera work? Those are things that films should be judged for. What makes a film god or bad isn't how much money it made, even though there are people who say otherwise (I read an article where someone wrote Star Wars The Phantom Menace is the most popular of the first 6 Star Wars films because it is the one that made the most money) it's how you interpret the film that makes a film being good or bad.

reply

This.

Superman and Batman are icons.

Wonder Woman is known worldwide.

The Flash has a shockingly popular tv show.

They should be TROUNCING ant man, GotG, Dr Strange and Thor

There are tons of movies that earned big but their quality was rather questionable (Transformers, F&F) so I wouldn't use money as an argument. At first I thought people were dumb and they'll keep gobbling whatever crap a studio gives them, but after what happened with the latest Transformers movie it seems I was wrong. Pretty much the same happened here with DC, that and the novelty factor. Cause let's face it most of the Avengers crew have been around for years and bunch of movies while seeing characters like Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman and others together presents something new and exciting. What Marvel lacks in that department they cover with the movies. Solid casting, enjoyable story that's not an edited mess, they know who's in charge and they have a vision (no pun intended) and also good CGI. It's weird I have to say CGI cause it's freaking year 2017 so great special effects should be a given, but taking into consideration the final act of the Wonder Woman and most of the Justice League obviously bad CGI is still an issue (I'm giving WW a pass given its budget but JL was a 300M movie so stuff like these are unforgettable).

Like with the Transformers and Alien franchise, the same happened with JL - the people probably got tired of constantly getting the same "meh" movies so they stopped watching them. That's a good thing, the sooner the producers get kicked where it hurts, the sooner they'll change what needs to be changed. Also an important factor is the competition. SS had almost no real threats for most of its run while JL can't say the same.

reply

Just trying to remind the marvelites that SS was a successful movie even though they say it was trash.

reply

well, the movie IS indeed trash, from acting to story to the lack of any sense in the script. But the fans like it, so that's on them.

Its only trash for you. SS only made 30m less than GotG and SS wasn't released in China. SS would have easily made 100m in China.

reply

It's not just me dude. The movie is panned pretty much everywhere. It's ok that you like it - nothing wrong with it - but seriously, the movie makes no sense whatsoever on many levels.

As an example: The Squad is formed because.... reasons... and the villain is one of the Squad members who was brought to be a part of the Squad from the start due to her Magic. Guess they had no enemies to give the Squad a reason to exist in the first place... so let's just make the Squad and one of them will be the enemy [which would not happen if they were not formed].

Another: Said Squad Member - who has apparently the ability to teleport to anywhere in the world and take whatever she so desires at any given moment, as she demonstrates in the board room - is being captive because there's a box with her heart in it right next to a bomb [or poison, can't remember] and at no point does said Squad member even thinks on getting the box out of the black chicks' reach and simply take her heart out of the box via her teleporting abilities... because... reasons.

Another: Said Squad Member suddenly remembers that she needs to "build a machine" to destroy people... because people now use machines... And said machine is magical... and made of floating trash.

Another: the dude that casts fire doesn't want to use his fire power because he killed his family right after his wife told him something about him being a criminal... Later on, he decides to use his fire power because he doesn't want to "lose another family"... when the dude hardly even knows the Squad members.

Another: Slip Knot is a dude with the power to make knots and climb stuff. He is killed off to show they have bombs in their necks. Yay for his super power. The power of KNOTS.

I could go on pointing out all the things that make no damn sense at all in the movie. But as it goes, the script is indeed quite trashy.

JUSTICE LEAGUE hasn't made any money at all (and is, in fact, currently on track to lose about $75 million-$120 million).

reply

Not yet but it will make money.

reply

only via BR sales. Then again, so does Plan 9 from Outer Space.
