...WB has announced that the DCEU will be purchased by Disney. A WB spokeperson said "We just want this baby to go to a good family who will take care of it and give it all it deserves, everything we can't provide."
Whether it is mean or not, Marvel have consistently done well with their movies and DC since the Nolan trilogy only has Wonder Woman showing anything close to that level of effort.
I don't rate Rises but I won't let that take away from the spectacle of the first two.
Two out of three ain't bad in my opinion and the fanboys for Rises didn't help their cause by picking on Marvel fans and projecting their inner embarrassed kid selves on them.
I don't do multiple hero comic books but the Marvel cinema stuff hits just the right spot for popcorn family creature features.
loved all three. this and smallville were their best effords so far. unless you count in snyder's watchmen ultimate cut, which destroys everything both companies has to offer.
Never read the comic though I knew of Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan.
The tone of the movie was pretty good and felt it needed to be that way.
The stuff I most enjoyed out of it was what apparently happened to the old Watchmen as was told by Rorschach while displaying images of their goofy looking wardrobe.
Also, the Comedian being thrown out of the window is a gold money shot.
you are right, the "under the hood" docu just exists as a seperate feature and if i remember right, in the graphic novel it was integrated throughout the story. i guess since the ultimate cut is so long, it was a bit much to integrate that into said cut as well.
i have seen the ultimate cute like 10 times and to me it is almost the best version of the book imaginable. the only thing missing would be that extra material. if i had the time, i would do it myself and maybe even throw in the missing sequences from the novel in, by adding those parts from trhe animated comic.
hopefully the upcoming tv series will be great as well, but with snyder's ultimate cut in mind, that's quite the challenge.
btw, is started with the theatrical cut and worked my way through the directors cut up to the UC and i grew more impressed with every version. i could have lived without the sex scene and "99 red balloons" in the soundtrack. as for the other changes, i prefer the movie ending and the new costumes.
Great timings at your end, I've only just found out about the TV pilot for HBO from researching your Ultimate Cut information and I can't say I'm happy about it...(You'll get the gist when you see my new thread in that subsection).
Hope springs eternal, but I'm sure even Pandora is thinking her box is getting pretty light these days.
just found your thread. i will do some research, since i haven't been in the loop on the hbo show for a while. see you there within the next couple of days.
PS: whatever they do with it, i can not possibly hate it more than what dc is doing to the watchmen right now on a graphic novel level. the prequel series were unneccessary, but doomsday clock is an insult.
awesome. this is gonna be an interesting conversation, since i love watchmen as well, but also quite like some of lindelof's work. looking forward to it. :D
agreed, it was fantastic. for me it was the perfect length. damn, i even binge watched the motion comic which ran 325 minutes, which admittedly is a different entity, but i prefer the snyder version above all. even above the original graphic novel version. loved the few changes he introduced.
It's a great starting point which is followed up nicely with the first sequel, both doing a service to each other in the terms of storytelling and showing what Bruce will endure for the safety of the people of Gotham.
Completely destroyed by the third movie though - which is a shame because the first 6 minutes of it were a compelling watch and did the IMAX camera with film thing he was going for a decent turn. Shame he didn't concentrate on what he'd done in his prior to movies regarding Batman and Bruce Wayne.
Although I'm not a fan of Batman, I had watched "The Mechanist" with Bale just prior to it and seeing his physical difference made me respect the man. Quite a U-turn as for performance. Made the movie all the more entertaining.
Not that I don't believe u but do u have a source. If it's true that's awesome. Warner bros just needs to learn that patience and not greed is what would've made the dceu work.
