So why no camp perimeter defence?

Okay so we all know this is a Uwe Boll film, and most if not all uwe Boll films are terrible, but...

Why oh why did the American 'camp' have no obvious perimeter defence?

I mean seriously, any soldier even at level of Private should realize that camping in the middle of a jungle gives charlie maximum concealment to sneak up on you.

You watch most other Vietnam films like Platoon Leader and Seige Of Firebase gloria and they have defoliated surrounding area, dug trenches, strung up razorwire, the whole shibang... anywhere where you sleep and store supplies HAS to be sucure.

And so there are these guys camping in the middle of the jungle, so surprise surprise I saw the attack coming from minute 1.

Is there actually any kind of military precident for setting up camp without any defences or did Uwe Boll just screw up big time... again?

I just watched this piece of trash. Shows what happens when you have people with no military background make a military movie. Uwe Boll screwed up big time. He should have hired at least one technical advisor with military training. I am glad I only paid a dollar to rent it at the Redbox but if you haven't seen it save your money or rent something else.

So I guess neither of you are big fans of Inglorious Bastards then (both the original and the Tarantino one with the bad spelling). Let's face it – Tarantino makes the most shamelessly inaccurate war film in history and people can't wait to slide up and down his totem pole. But yeah, let's crucify Boll for his inaccuracies when he's basically said that the time and setting are irrelevant. He chose Vietnam simply because it was the best example to hang his particular message on.

I didn't like "Inglorious Basterds" when it changed history so blatantly.

I have yet to see "Tunnel Rats". I've heard the only reasons for seeing it is the awesome tunnel scenes and the powerful ending. I'm thinking that must be reason enough. It'll be my first Uwe Boll film actually.
