This is what Van Helsing wanted to be. I was instantly drawn into this movie. I will admit it is a very religious movie, and almost heavy handed about it, but thats just part of the story. Its very dark and it rains in almost every scene. It really just blew me away. I cant wait for a release in the US. This is gonna be on my short list of must own Blu-rays.

Van Helsing is about 3x better.
Kane was a good film, with aspirations to be a great film. Would have loved a live action Red Shadows, or Wings In The Night instead, though...
SHERLOCK HOLMES (2009) WAS A HORRIBLE MOVIE. ACCEPT IT.
Just saw the movie yesterday (twice) and it was a lot better, than I expected it to be (else we wouldn't have watched it again). But it wasn't the greatest movie ever (Not even in my top 5)
shareI liked it alot. Great effort on a limited budget. I suspect it will end up as one of those movies that stands the test of time. Kind of like Willow. A movie you can pick up after 20 years, and still enjoy it bigtime.

Agreed!! Totally can't wait for a North American release of this on Blu-ray. I've watched like 3-4 times already I'm thinking of watching it again, right after Conan the Destroyer haha. Though if they were to make a second and third film, how would that work, since his soul has been redeemed?? Would he continue to do violence?? Would it be in the name of God? I must have missed something? I haven't anything by REH, so I don't know much about the character or story? Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

I didn't care for this movie so much but I still think it's a step up from Van Helsing.
The over-the-top CG ending just ruined it for me along with the way it seemed so rushed. The stupid wizard antagonist (can't even remember his name) didn't even really show up until the end. "Surprise! Here's a new bad guy for you."
At least Solomon Kane was interesting enough of a character to keep the movie interesting.
Completely agree with you, I loved this movie. Everything about it was brilliant. Absolutely not the type of movie I would ordinarily watch but I was hooked in from start to finish. GREAT movie!
