I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

LOL!

He's the poor man's Hugh Jackman.

reply

Actually, Purefoy demonstrated to the world just how big a rip off and pretender Hugh Jackman was.

Tesla was robbed!

reply

Love James Purefoy...he has been acting long before Hugh Jackman and has been very well known. Maybe not all over the world but in the UK at least.
You should look for him in Rome...he far outshines Hugh Jackman...

Poor man's Hugh Jackman, I totally agree. Now here's a real brain teaser, is Kyle McLachlan the poor man's Bruce Campbell or is Bruce Campbell the poor Man's Kyle McLachlan?

reply

Oo! What a question? I like both Kyle McLachlan and Bruce Campbell. I reckon they are both distinct entities in their own right. Kyle's great in 'Twin Peaks' and all of the other David Lynch films he did. Bruce Campbell is, well, Bruce Campbell. I can see the comparision that you are making though,

reply

Neither, they don't remind me of each other at all.

reply

The only person that can even be mentioned in the same sentence as The Chin is Chuck Norris. Not because they are anywhere similar but because He is Chuck Norris. But The Chin takes a back seat to no other man!!!

where? where?

reply

Yeah i didnt really know purefoy much and almost right away i was like, holy *beep* Hugh jackman's brother? He isnt quite as good looking though, well, he looks rougher. Which works. And i thought hmm...i wonder how he'd have done as Wolverine....

reply

james deserves some other roles.

id love to see him as constantine, etc.

jackman is also a good actor, and broke to worldwide stardom, unlike purefoy. but this film is vastly superior to van helsing in almost every aspect.

Jackman AND Purefoy are both amazing actors, and they NEED to make the Solomon Kane sequels because there is way too much potential here to just have one film. Plus, it came out two years before the Conan reboot, and was infinitely better in every way when compared to it, which is really sad. Conan had a bigger budget ($50 million more), and more to work with, and yet it couldn't even match up to Kane. This movie is like Dredd; well-directed, acted and scripted, but failed at the box office because of idiotic distributors.

Stephen Sommers should go to Michael J. Basset and help him produce the sequels because, well, Stephen Sommers earned millions for Universal Pictures and they should jump all over the sequels. And, Stephen did make damn good, fun movies out of Van Helsing and the Mummy films (the third was decent, but could have been much better if Rob Cohen wasn't the director and Rachel Weisz was in it)

Bravo OP. I almost spewed all over my keyboard when I read the subject line (from laughter).

You had me going.

We're all in strung out shape, but stay frosty, and alert.

reply

Are you crazy? That was not Hugh Jackman playing the lead. Any fool could see it was Christopher Lambert.

reply

Van Helsing was a ripoff of Solomon Kane. The Helsing movie came out first and
stole the look of Kane. Some idiots not familiar with Robert E Howard think Solomon Kane is a ripoff of Van Helsing but the opposite is true. The literary Van Helsing was an oldish professor and prob never held a sword in his life...plus he lived in modern times, not medieval days.

reply

LOL! Have a look at the cover of Ironclad - he completely looks like Christopher Lambert à la Highlander there!

reply

Amen.

reply

Hugh Jackman was epic LOL
