As for the his character in the movie, that mistake belongs to the writers. His character is such a horrid little *beep* that EVERYONE would like to smack him in the head. He's an arrogant little *beep* and within 30 mins into the movie we all hope he gets whacked by GORT or Klattu. By this time you don't care what happens to him.
As for Jaden Smith? He's a terrible actor and only gets parts because of who his dad and mum are. Every movie he has been in are terrible, and he's a big part of why that is true. It's sad to see how his Dad continues to feed into his little ego and use his influence to get him roles.
I've read that it's Jaden whining about being an actor that drives this BS. Someone has to tell the kid that he can't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Perhaps he should investigate music since that's where his dad's genes are from and since his dad really can't act either, except to mug for the camera, it's obvious that that's why his son can't act either.
I wish they'd do us all a favor and give up the acting; father and son! Jada isn't too bad, and she's one hell of a lot better to look at too!
The big problem is kind of like "the Emperors new clothes" nobody wants to say anything bad so not to upset his "important" father, so everyone keeps saying what an acting phenom Jaden is and make daddy happy and not get in his bad book.
