I just happened to rewatch AOD and TDTESS today many years after last seeing them. I noticed that the phrase that Ash was supposed to say with the book, and what the giant "robot" said to the bullet injured Klaatu were the same. At least the captions were similar if not exactly the same. It is so weird that I would choose to rewatch both movies on the same day and notice this.

Yes, the phrases were the same. But Klaatu supposedly said it to the giant robot, not the other way around. The problem was the way they overdubbed the sound in the new movie it was unintelligible to me. It was an important point in the original story, but it was a throwaway line in the new one, put in only give an homage to the original, I think.
