Why are Eastern Europeans so evil?
Seriously, what's their problem? They're always trying to take over the world or steal something.

shareStereotype i guess.... I'm Eastern European by the way :D
shareTechnically, I wouldn't call him evil. He was just so hurt by his best friend going after who he perceived as "his girl" that his thought processes warped a bit. However, the really evil bad in the film was British...
shareYou mean 'what's western society's problem with eastern europeans'?
Guess they know so little about us that we are the perfect unknown to be feared.
About 10 years ago a guy from the states visited Hungary and was shocked to see we had bmw-s and cinemas and skateboarding and stuff because they had thought we were nomads still traveling on horse back.
And the likes of Attila, Count Dracule, russian warlords and the others give it a pretty good reputation.
I actually spit out my drink when in Watchmen they reveal Rorschach's real identity and they pronounce Kovacs(hungarian for Smith) as Kovax instead of Kovatch.
Anyway I find this stereotype amusing and can't wait for the next evil homey to appear on the silver screen.
PEACE!
(AttilaKiraly?! That was hard to guess :)
Eastern Europeans aren't evil. That's just Hollywood's depiction of them. It's because of the Cold War. For 50 plus years Hollywood had a reliable region from which to get villain from: the Communist Bloc. Even now 20 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall they are finding it hard to change.
The irony of course is that for 40 years most Eastern Europeans actually truly believed that they were actually trying to make the World a better place and trying to end human suffering and exploitation.
Unlike American capitalists who truly didn't care about the Third World peons they starved to death along the way.
At the same time wasn't Cage a European trying to save the world? Considering the time frame of Merlin and De Fay...not much was going on in America regarding "taking over the world".

Dunno. Maybe all those years of Soviet oppression?

Is it their sexiness? Is it the accent? Haha, I have lots of friends from Eastern Europe and I know ya'll don't ride horses and live in huts in villages.
shareWhy are you asking this question on this board? There are no Eastern European bad guys in this movie. All the bad guys are British.
