The fight with Morgana was extremely anti-climactic. *spoilers*

Seriously, we're waiting for the entire movie for this fight with an insane, evil bitch, and barely anything happens! Dave just hits her with a bunch of plasma balls, she hits him back, and then he destroys her with electricity. That's it? I was expecting her to conjure a friggin' Leviathan or something. I wanted to see her shake the ground and make buildings collapse, SOMETHING!

I think they wanted to keep the fight scene from being the actual climax of the movie, instead focusing on what happened right afterwards. It's basically a (double) love story, after all, which means an emphasis on relationships, not fighting.

OP it's a disney movie. Almost all the final battle scenes are anti climactic.

Lion King: Scar begs for his life, Simba says get out of here, Scar attacks, Simba throws him over the edge.

Beauty and the Beast: Gaston: Please! Please don't hurt me! I'll do ANYTHING! Beast: Get out. Beast then sees and talks to Belle, and Gaston stabs him in the back, Beast hits him and Gaston falls to his death.

Princess and the Frog: Facilier chases the main character though a graveyard only to try and manipulate her and fails, his talismin shatters and he gets dragged to his death.

Tangled: Almost nothing happens, hero comes gets stabbed main girl begs to save him, and the guy cuts her hair and the villain dies.

Hunchback: Do I even need to say it?

Jungle Book: Shere Khan chases Mowgli, Baloo comes, and Shere Khan can still run with a bear on his tail, Mowgli chases Khan away by tying a stick of fire to his tail.

Cinderella: Don't need to say it.

So what were you expecting from a Disney movie? Really?

Yes, I totally agree with you on this issue. But first, I think the movie was actually better than I had anticipated. I didn't go watch it in a theatre simply because of the low score on imdb! It should get like a 7 to be fair. I think they got a good story and special effects. I enjoyed the action sequences in a china town and the car chase. What's considered lacking in this movie is the "surprise" or the "twist" elements. It didn't have that "I don't see it coming at all!" moment. The evil witch was eliminated in the most straightforward, predictable way. They could have made her trip over something and fell through a black-hole. Yes, seriously! Take "the Wizard of Oz" and "Stardust" as examples. That's how the evil witches should be killed off! (Sorry, I don't watch that many movies to give you a long list of examples.)
Also, one more point to make, the dog didn't get enough screen time!! What a shame! It's a Disney movie. (Same thing can also be said about Morgana Le Fay.) In the beginning, the story began in Britain, but neither Horvath, Balthazar nor Veronica spoke with British accent!

I hated the dog and the adolescent jokes associated with it, but I do agree that Morgana could have done with more screen time.
Horvath didn't speak with a British accent? Then what accent was it?

reply

Sounded Eastern European, some claimed Hungarian but it didn't sound that way to me, it sounded like generic Eastern European.
