@Dwane-gates, No problem dude, totally understand where you're coming from. On the internet it's really easy to get carried away, but damnit might as well talk smack and take advantage of this anonymity!
I remember my awesome teacher a while back told me that she liked Battlefield Earth and hated Pulp Fiction. I sort of died a little inside, but opinions are opinions and I can't judge her for that.
Personally I get more joy hating on movies people somehow love (Gran Torino, Kids Are All Right, The Illusionist (both of them), etc..), and I can totally understand people enjoying this movie for what it is. Your ideology pretty much determines how you react to whatever films, and for some reason Sorcerer's Apprentice really got to me (but I can see myself revisiting it when I'm less pissy lol). It's fluff, so perhaps I was too hasty in my immediate hatred. I think just looking at the two lead performers and thinking about how much they were paid totally killed it for me. Not the worst movie in the world, but Nic Cage's terribleness was too much for me to handle.
Anyway kids see films from a really different perspective from adults, so they'd undoubtedly enjoy this a lot more than adults. But one's taste changes over the years (loved Forrest Gump 10 yrs ago, now it's just kinda bad) and these film courses completely mess with what you find more important in movies. It's really fun being over critical, yet it always comes at a price.
