Seems like it might actually be good?...

Judging by cast and crew and things i've read, it looks like this might actually end up being a nice decent indie type flick or something. It's King, so i don't know why it can't get a bigger budget or at least a wider distribution or something. It doesnt' really need a big budget as it will definitely be good based on acting skills and perhaps the overall backdrop and feel of the movie. Doesn't need anything flashy at all so a big budget isn't necessary. Don't get why somebody bigger won't pick this up and give it a proper theater audience though. Either way...here's to hoping they don't screw up a great story.

agreed. I'm glad Tom Cruise's company Cruise/Wanger is no longer making this into a movie--it would have been a disaster because Tom Cruise's name is on it! espcially with great names like Sylvestor STallone, Kevin Bacon, or even Gabriel byrne attatched to star.

I'm happy Christian Slater and Wes Bentley are in it.

Sorry, but it's not good. At all. It IS a disaster. Christian Slater and Wes Bently are awful in this. Bently couldn't be more flat and Slater is laughable and isn't remotely menacing as a bad guy. I like Slater when he plays good guys in movies like Broken Arrow, but he's not remotely convincing playing a villian.

This movie is unintentionally funny a lot of times but it's an incredibly ugly movie at the same time. I absolutely hated it. And this has to be one of the silliest revenge stories I have ever seen in my life.

Agreed. This was a disaster.

I actually have to disagree. I thought that Slater's portrayal of Dolan was the perfect walk on a razor's edge between complete psychopath and businessman, and some of his rants (for example, after his attempted murder by the random gang) were hilarious. Also, his increasing desperation to be let out of the caddy was done pretty well. The sycophantic bodyguard was a nice touch - thought he was pretty creepy. I don't think Bentley was great, or good even, but he played his role and had a few decent lines.

I may be biased, being from Maine and loving all things King, but I thought this film really did the story justice. Plus, it preserved my favorite line from the story, after Dolan fires out the door of his car for the first time, just missing Robinson: "Did I get you, *beep*

He was doing very well last night! Maybe someone around here gave him lessons!

Gave it a 4 and I was being charitable. Everything was bad, but the dialogue had me cringing.

You saw Dingleberries?

I thought it was a good movie! Saw it today and i enjoyed it. I have seen much worse movies than this, that's for sure.

4/10, and that was pretty charitable. King is a master at crafting a good story, but he often does it with unconventional characters and storytwists. Being such a great storyteller, he can get away within the book, because that is his medium. When a great director gets his/her hands on Kings stuff, it becomes great (Shining). When a bad director gets his/her hands on a King story, they try to tell the story with clichés, which won't work with Kings unconventionality. Dolans Cadillac belongs to the latter. Add another film to the list of Children of the corn and so on...

I loved the story when I read it. However, this movie doesn't have a tone or a point. In the book, what he did felt like an insurmountable task done bit by bit, the film it was done very quickly and looked relatively easy. However, in the movie, the main focus being the final conversation, all the cellphoning back and forth and webcams just was stupid. Plus, it never made a point.

I guess someone would say that it was trying not to make any points but it didn't even do that. Instead of really putting the viewer to all the odds, it was just blah blah and I couldn't care less about anything.
