How the hell did this movie cost 90 mil?! seriously where did all the budget go??

there are action movies where they regularly destroy and explode everything with lower budgets than this!!!

Sandler movies cost a lot of money these days because he get's paid so much to be in them, and they just blow the rest of it.

How the hell did this movie cost 90 mil?!

If you haven't heard of "Hollywood Accounting", you should look it up. In a nutshell, a lot of movie productions are designed to pay the insiders up front while leaving suckers holding the bag.

Sandler, being the scumbag he is, takes it to a whole new level. He shamelessly solicits companies for product placements, pays his buddies ridiculous money for little to no work, makes sleazy distribution deals where the signers pocket up front fees while outside investors get nothing unless the movie makes an impossibly high amount of money.

He doesn't care how well the movie does, or even how good it is because he makes his money before it's released.

Everyone does this, you delusional person. Titanic is a great example and so are the Harry Potter movies. Order of the Phoenix made 990 million but was still in the red 170 million.

Like hell you did. You gave two examples of Hollywood accounting, but you're too bloody stupid to understand that I'm talking about Sandler's tricks.

Anyway, your claim that all movies use Hollywood accounting is BS. Believe it or not, quite a few movie makers are actually honest.

lots of big stars/ cameos, extras, lots of large purpose built sets and quite a bit of cgi.

it does have one of the best practical special effect I've ever seen.
Its when he swims after a boat, near the start of the film. He seems to swim like a dolphin swooping up an over, through the water. Its brilliant. How was it done, anyone know?
