Who didn't deserve to die.. and knowing Chinese totally spoiled the film

When the man gave that Chinese woman the paper, right before she was killed, she said this:

"wo qiu ni bu yao sha wo, ni de er zi si le bu shi wo de cuo, shi wo de lawyer, ta shuo huang, ba ni er zi fang zai jian yu li"

IMDB doesn't recognize Chinese characters so I have to latinize what she said in Chinese.

It will translate as "Please don't kill me, the death of your son wasn't my fault, it was my lawyer who lied and put your son in prison"

Well, this occurred at the 62 minute mark of the film, and ruined the rest of it. So seemingly that she was the one who misidentified the suspect, and to the best of our knowledge, she didn't misidentify the suspect with any malevolent intent, so she was more or less innocent?

I know that the incidence of a Chinese person watching this is quite rare, but still, I found the film great until it was spoiled like that.

yea i came here to post how unfair it was that the Chinese lady died. She was completely innocent. That sux that it got spoiled for you. But that makes me wonder..how did she even know he was the father and that the lawyer lied? she couldn't understand anyone so how did she piece that much evidence together?

i hope you choke on your bacardi & coke!

Before she was shot the man handed her a piece of paper with Chinese characters on it. I guess that the paper was meant to identify who her would-be killer was, and also to tell her of her perceived guilt in the eyes of the father-guy.

And you're right that the lawyer part didn't make sense since the only English word she spoke was the n-word (when she insulted the black guy) so she probably couldn't have understood. Or maybe she was desperate to live so she just cooked up some story which coincidentally happened to be true.

What was the other stuff she said, Chinese speaker from 1 year ago?

Unless the shooter spoke to her privately before he chained her up, the Chinese lady didn't have a fighting chance. She wouldn't have even understood the question, "Why are you here?"

How did the Chinese lady know that her lawyer lied unless the Chinese lady knew all along that Greeley wasn't guilty? Was that written on that sheet of paper?

If she knew the prosecutor framed the son, and didn't say anything, she was culpable. The insurance guy didn't deserve to die, neither did the priest. Not sure the holdup guy really deserved to die, although he did allow the son to go to prison for a crime he didn't commit.

And I think it's cool they actually used real chinese to reveal something meaningful, if you actually knew the language. (It didn't reveal everything, fwiw.)
