Dear IMDb comment poster cddi: AIDS is the condition that can result from being infected with the HIV virus. You can pass on or contract a virus or bacteria but not AIDS. Hope that helped.

I am more miffed how Coogan was still healthy and the boy died...surly u can manage HIV for decades ??
