The chick who lives had been arguing with everyone the whole time about how bad people they were (when she was no better) and then she kills the people who helped her figure everything out.

So it's fairly straight forward that she'd come to be just as bad as them (actually she's worse than most to me).
Through the movie you see her character getting worse and worse, and she's starting to come out a little bit, explaining how she'll do anything to survive...
Not saying I knew she was going to "live", but it seems a pretty descent turn of events.
