Steve Jobs

Did anyone see Steve Jobs yet? For those who have, am I the only one that felt like Danny Boyle completely ripped Darren Aronofsky's style in Black Swan? Think about it... the blocking, the prop/set design, the camera's movement with the music... it all felt stolen.

"How the hell do I know why there were Nazis? I don’t know how the can opener works!"

I haven't seen it, but I did notice some similarities just from the trailer. I think it's just a popular thing in movies these days.

Also, notice how both movies have the theme of "passion for one's craft". Steve Jobs wasn't a nervous, hallucinatory wreck like Nina, but he was equally devoted to making things perfect, and I think having this sort of tension enables the production design to make similar choices in staging, atmosphere, etc.

I wouldn't say stolen...Danny Boyle is an interesting filmaker because, his films are visually all over the place and he doesn't ever settle on ONE particular way of shooting. H,e's like a bull in a China shop
